NRC “Kurchatov Institute” is one of the world leading scientific centers and the largest interdisciplinary national laboratory in Russia. The Center’s activities focus on the scientific, technological and personnel potential necessary for development of fundamentally new branches of science and technologies, creation and mastering of perspective industries based on large-scale, unique research and technological mega-installations and facilities. 

A significant part of the scientific complex of Russia is concentrated under the guidance of NRC “Kurchatov Institute”. The Center performs research and development projects in a wide scope of modern scientific areas, ranging from nuclear energy and present-day material science to genetics and nature-like technologies. 

The composite field of activity of NRC “Kurchatov Institute” incorporates two largest material science centers represented by NRC “Kurchatov Institute” – CRISM “Prometey” and NRC “Kurchatov Institute” – VIAM.
