Founded in 2016, covering an area of nearly 110,000 sqm2, Chengdu Sechin Advanced Material Science & Technology Co., Ltd. (referred to “Chengdu Sechin” hereafter) is a high-tech new material enterprise integrating R&D, manufacturing and sales of PBO fiber. The company is currently running a 380t/a manufacturing stream, with its capacity ranking second worldwide and first in China. PBO fiber, polyp-Phenylene-2,6-benzobisoxazole, well-renowned for its oustanding strength and modulus, high temperature resistance, excellent flame resistance, and low dielectric performance, is regarded as the "21st-century super fiber" follow-up to Kevlar fiber.With its in-house manufacturing process, Chengdu Sechin is able to provide PBO filament, short cut fiber, staple fiber, pulp, base fabric and prepreg composites, etc. As a typical dual-use material with promising prospect, PBO fiber could be widely used in aerospace, national defense, military industry, military police protection equipment, industrial products and other applications, namely airborne radar antenna cover, electromagnetic shielding wave-proof sleeve, aircraft bearing structural parts, armor for tank, aircraft and ship, bulletproof equipment, special key components, special cables and ropes.
